Honningsvag in Nordkapp municipality, claims to be the northernmost city in Norway and even in the world, although the title is disputed by Hammerfest, Norway. The village is set in a land of vast forests, dramatic fjords and crashing waterfalls.
Honningsvag is located at the northernmost extreme of Europe, but the winter temperatures are softened by the ice free ocean and not nearly as cold as is typical for this latitude. In fact, the winters are actually warmer than Oslo's. Summers are cool and short.
Tourists visiting Honningsvag come during the summer to experience the wonders of the Midnight Sun. Other attractions include fjords, mountains and the North Cape, where cliffs rise over 1,000 feet above the Arctic Ocean.
